What is Runtime Error 429

If you are a user of Microsoft Office, and who isn't these days? You most likely have encountered the runtime error 429 and dismissed it as yet another one of those codes that the programmers at the Bill Gates camp put into the software to make you mad and raise your blood pressure. But what is this mysterious error and why does it happen and is there anything we can do about it?

The runtime error 429 is something that occurs due to some issues with visual basic and how commands are interpreted in it. It can happen if any of the following are true. There is a mistake in the application, there is a mistake in the system configuration, there is a missing component or there is a damaged component. There are a few other things that can cause it, but by and large these are the main culprits that cause the error.

If you are getting the runtime error 429 for the first time, it might not be anything worth thinking about and / or wasting any amount of time on. However, if you have gotten it repeatedly on the same program or the same spots in programs, then it is time to investigate a little deeper and see if the problem can be corrected.

When it comes to trouble shooting the runtime error 429, unless you are well versed in programming and handling code execution and trouble shooting, this would be an area that I would personally suggest you leave to someone that wears the little white tech coats at your favorite computer repair facility. You can certainly keep a log of when and where it happens so that you can tell them it happens in this program when I do this. That way they have a roadmap as to where to start examining the code.

This can be problematic and once you get an expert involved it can get expensive rather quickly because these are trained professionals and expect to be paid accordingly. So solving your runtime error 429 problem might actually be easier to do and your time might be better served by un-installing Microsoft Office and then doing a complete re-install from the original discs.

While this might seem a little drastic for a runtime error 429 problem, you might find that by the time you drive the computer to the shop, let them keep it for a week, drive back in and get it and get back home again, it might be more cost effective and certainly more time effective to just re-install. Oh yes and did I mention that a vast majority of time after they fix the issue, a complete re-install might be needed anyway.

The runtime error 429 can be a pain in the butt and it can be solved as outlined above. How you choose to do that is your choice entirely.
