Registry Clean Up
There is nothing better for saving your hair, your data and your nerves than a
good preventative maintenance routine for your computer. The old adage of an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure has never been more of a truth than when dealing with a computer.
Things like backing up your data in case of a crash. Regular virus scans to
make sure your PC is healthy and doing a regular
registry clean up to remove all the clutter that builds up on the hard drive and ultimately slows the once fast computer you bought and loved into a slow crawling one that you would love to toss into the trash can every time you use it.
One of the most effective, quickest, easiest and least expensive of the group is the
registry clean up. It is most effective because it gets rid of the things that actually slow down what you notice the most which is the speed. It is the quickest because it is not as in depth as the other things and as a result completes in a rather timely manner. It is easiest because you click a button and it runs through without any more input from you and it is least expensive because a
good many of the programs that do this service are available to you free of charge.
So after hearing all of that does a good
registry clean up sound like
something that you should include in your maintenance routine? I am sure it does. It is something that I usually do every couple of days on my machine, although I use mine a lot, it comes on early in the morning, usually by 8 or 9 in the morning at the latest and goes off anywhere from midnight to 4 o'clock in the morning depending on how much of what I have that needs to be done that day.
A good registry clean up can revitalize the computer you bought and give it back the processing speed you have been missing. The secret is that once you do it you should stay on the path of continuous cleanings to maintain that performance.
Yes, some people only do it when the computer acts up or slows down and they
get an amazing boost. If you manage a registry clean up on a regular basis your increase in speed after the initial cleaning may not even be noticeable. But that is because your overall speed is so much faster that you really are not going to see as huge of a change as someone that only does it every six months but you will have the benefit of a constantly and consistently faster PC
So
add a registry clean up to your scheduled maintenance routine and see what you've been missing. Your processor will thank you.
